A Psalm of Praise and Gratitude from Your Servant, Shonda

Dear Lord...

I don't know what Your plan is, or what the purpose of all I have been through this year serves...but I trust You.

I keep coming to the brink of disaster, only to feel your loving touch on my life once again...EVERY TIME. You save me. You stand me back on my feet. And, each time I fall back down, I cry to You and You come to my rescue.

I know I am dirty. I know that I am unclean. I know that I don't deserve the wonderful Grace that You keep giving me, but I also know that I have been purified, sanctified and made whole by Your Son who died on the cross to pay for all of my sins.

I try so hard, Lord. I work so hard. Yet, You keep reminding me that no matter how much I do or what I want, You will have Your way, and that way is to Bless me, in spite of my failures and wrong-doings, because - well - simply because You chose me to be Your child.

When I fall down, I do what all young children do, I cry. I get angry. I throw fits. Then, You pick me up and I forget all about what hurt me and I smile and hug the One who holds me.

You are my Loving, Merciful, Strong, Rich Father who wants nothing more than to see me smile. You make me want to please You more. And, I know I can never do enough or be enough.

Thank You for, once again, coming to my rescue. Thank You for teaching me responsibility. Thank You for teaching me gratitude.

I would ask You to help me obtain a position that I no longer have the need to call out to You for help, but then I would miss out on all the times that Your help has filled my heart with Joy!

Lead me. Guide me. Show me the way; and, whatever Your purpose is for me, Lord, let me be in it.

In Jesus' Holy Name,

Amen

Praying for Success on New Job

Hello, Father!

As You know, I have just embarked on a new independent contractor adventure. You have given me the ability to do pretty much anything I want to do in order to pay my bills. You have opened doors I never thought I'd ever walk through. You have presented the opportunities and given me choices.

Lord, I pray today that You walk with me on all of it. I pray that You lead me where I am most needed, and that success continues to follow me.

I may never get rich, Lord. But, I do ask that You continue to make it possible for all of my needs to be met. And, that You see fit to give me more to give to others as the need arises.

Your will be forever done, in Jesus's Holy Name, AMEN

Pray for the Family of Rush Limbaugh

Rush Limbaugh has passed away at the age of 70 from a recent hard fight with lung cancer.

Limbaugh was a pioneer in Conservative Talk Radio and recently was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Donald Trump during the 2020 State of the Union Address.

He did his part to try to change the world for the better.

No one will ever be able to fill his shoes, but we can pray that someone with as much talent and determination can take his place at the microphone.

For now, we should pray for comfort for his family and friends, and the millions of listeners who lost an advocate for Freedom in America!

Prayer for Restoration

Jesus,

I am not perfect. I fall down and get dirty quite a bit. Each time, I reach out for a hand up, and you are gracious and merciful to give it to me. For that, I love You more.

Jesus, right now I am recuperating from a broken heart, once again. I blame no one but myself. I thank You that you have kept my vision clear and my heart in the right place. I ask for your forgiveness where I have failed, even though I know deep down that I do not deserve it.

I ask for Your strength, Your guidance, Your love, Your companionship and Your friendship as I do an about turn and attempt not to look back. I want to be where I was spiritually 2 years ago, when it didn't hurt.

I am praying for a miracle, Lord. I want to do things the right way. I am asking you to help me restrain myself and not try to get ahead of You in anything from now on -- because I have learned the hard way that to do so is painful.

Lord, I know You will take care of me. You have always provided for me and given me the care I needed when I needed it most. I am at Your will.

I am asking You to provide for my health right now. You know my issues. You know what I need -- mentally, spiritually and physically, financially.

I need Your courage, Lord. Your ambition. Your love. Your motivation. And, I thank You for the restoration that is at my fingertips.

In Jesus' Holy Name I pray, Amen

Unfinished

Dear Father,

Thank You! Today I finally realized what You have been doing for me lately. You have not left me. You have been watching, waiting, letting me get dirty and wallow in the mud and gasping for air as I struggle not to drown in knee-deep water -- so to speak. You've let me struggle just long enough to realize that I truly do need You. Without you, there is NO struggle I can overcome on my own. And, it is time I realize that that includes the small things as well as the big ones.

They are ALL big things to YOU. At the same time, all of the problems that are mountainous to me is but a small hill in Your eyes.

Sometimes the miracles You perform are not the miracles we pray for, but the ones that are in our best interest.

You have, today, reached out your hand and set me before someone who needed from You the same things I need from You. And, You asked me to minister to them. In so doing, I heard everything You said to me as You spoke through me to them. I heard You loud and clear.

I want You to know that it doesn't make the struggle stop for me; but, it does make it easier to deal with. It gives me something else to focus on.

Thank You, Jesus, for Your wisdom and comfort. And, for the Hope You give.

I know You can still give me the miracle I want if You want to. I still pray for that, but I am no longer yearning for it. Thank You.

In Jesus' Holy Name I pray,

Amen

He Understands My Tears

Father,

I need You. You are the only constant in my life. You are the only part of my life that, no matter how long I am away, no matter how big my mistakes, and no matter how low or in the dark I feel, I know I can turn to You and feel as much love, with as much passion as I did when my life was full of brightness. You are my light -- sometimes the only light I see at the end of a dark tunnel.

You once showed Paul that in weakness You are made strong. You allow the weakness because it shows us how much we need You. It is so with me, today.

I need Your strength today, Father. I need Your loving hand to pull me back on my feet. I need Your lap to curl up in. I need Your loving arms to hold me and make me feel as if nothing else matters.

I am tired of being strong, Father. My heart feels like the un-cracked Liberty Bell on the 4th of July, ringing so loudly, as if to say, "I am here! Remember ME!" until it cracked, and turned into a strong symbol of what it once stood for. It has nice memories, but is incapable of being more than that in it's present form.

I am broken.

And, once again I am looking to You to fix me. And, I am broken even more knowing that the thread You use to sew me back together isn't made to handle what broke me again.

But, You are a God of miracles, and I am begging for You to use something besides that golden thread this time. Even so, be it, if You do. Perhaps I need the thread to remind me that I am not made for that struggle -- so I won't engage in it willingly again. And, in that way, Your strength is made through my weakness.

You are my boxing gloves and my knee pads as much as You are that tiny beam of light in the far off caverns of the dark cave I am winding through. I need that light to guide me on out.

Thank You Father, that I still hope for a happier day, even when I don't feel it right now. Let my tears water the garden, Lord.

In Jesus' Name, Amen

My Heart, Your Throne

Dear Lord,

I want to thank You for "normal". I guess it's true that people tend to not appreciate things until they don't have them anymore. And, I am thankful, right now -- REAL thankful -- for "normal".

Sometimes, I guess, You have to take something from us to make us appreciate what You have blessed us with. I can understand that. Thanks, Daddy, for the disciplinary "grounding".

I'd also like to apologize for messing up. I tend to mess up pretty big when I mess up. And, now is no different. I took my eyes off You to focus on something else, just long enough to figure out that that isn't how to get the abundant life I long for. So, I'm going to remedy that, and I ask for Your patience, forgiveness, and help as I work toward that.

Also, I'm still praying for my "miracle". But, maybe that is something You don't think I need, so I need to be thankful for what I have and accept that You know best. I've always done that. I've always had faith that I am where You need me to be in life, and nothing happens without Your permission or will. But, Lord, I may be thankful for what You give me (or don't give me, whatever the situation may be), but it doesn't mean that my human heart doesn't long for more. Help me to stay content with what I have.

Thank you for dying on the Cross to save me from myself. As is probably evidenced by this prayer, I need a lot of saving from myself. But, You are always my best friend, anyway. I REALLY appreciate and love You for that!

Lead me, guide me, and show me the way.

Protect my health and those of my friends and family.

In Jesus' Name, I pray!

AMEN

Letting Go

It doesn't mean giving up. But it sure is hard to let go. God give me the strength to trust You. Help me to depend on Your Will. Give me what You think I should have WHEN You think I should have it. And, protect my heart in the process.

Lord, I give my yearnings to You to deal with. I give YOU what i am letting go of. I trust YOU with my dreams, my hopes, and my future. I know that You know what's best, even when I don't. But, I ask You to care for and protect what I am giving You.

Most of all, Lord, I ask that You help me be who I should be, and be ready to receive what You decide I should have...

In Jesus' Holy Name I pray, even though I know I don't deserve it...

Waiting

God, I don't know what You have planned for my life. I don't know what You have planned for my future. But, I'm going to wait and let You show me.

You know the desires of my heart. You know what I need. And, You are well aware of what I ask for with every breath I breathe each day.

You also know that I am not perfect. I sometimes try to get ahead of You. Sometimes I fail You. But, my love for You never waivers, even when You say "No"; even when you don't think I'm ready; even when YOU aren't ready.

Please keep my friends, and those I love more than life itself, safe and blessed each day. Give them hope. Help them to understand who they are meant to be. Give them peace and understanding. And, help them rest. Open their eyes so they can see the blessings You have placed before them, if they would just receive it.

And, help me be a blessing.

In Jesus's Holy Name I pray! Amen!

I Love You, Anyhow

Thank You, Lord.

You are the one I should hide in. Every time I reach out for something You don't think I should have, I fall flat on my face, and YOU are always there to say, "I love you, anyway."

When I feel like life is a practical joke, You are the only stabilizing factor in my life that keeps me sane.

When I feel like I want to run and hide under a rock somewhere and hide from the whole world, You coax me out, ever so gently.

When all I want is to be held, You warm me with your arms of grace.

When I need a friend, You listen, and Your shoulders are big enough for all my tears.

When I am scared to take the next step, You encourage me.

When I am too stupid to stop, You probably laugh at me, but help me get up after I hit a wall, brush my backside off with Your loving chastisement and love me, anyway.

When I want to hurry instead of wait, You put Your hand out and pull me back.

And, when I don't hear the words I want to hear, You always make sure I hear what I need to.

I love You, Lord...

Even when I'm hurting.

Even when I'm angry.

Even when I'm lost.

Even when I fail.

Even when I lose something or someone dear to me.

I love You, anyhow.

Prayer of Thanks for His Laws

Thank You, Lord, for Your Law.

Your Law is there to guide us through the hard times in our life -- the hardest decisions, the life-changing ones that we are called to make occasionally in our lives.

You have set the law down to protect us, and to give us the future that YOU have planned for us -- one of hope, and success, with love that cannot be measured, and to teach us to love completely and without abandon.

Even when the Law tells us to go against what we would want for ourselves, it is a reminder that You know what is best for us; and, it is a call to trust You, even when the answer is "No."

I have more faith for having your law as a guide, and more confidence in the knowledge of right living. While I am humbled by the weight of it at times, I find myself grateful for the guidance -- and for the strength You give to those who obey.

I pray for Your forgiveness when I find myself too weak, and that You somehow give me the nudge I need to stand up again when I fail.

In Jesus' Holy Name I pray,

Amen

Thanking God Today

Lord, I thank You today for all my blessings -- for your grace and your mercy in my life. I thank You that you sustain me, for Your provision and Your love.

I thank You for old friends who stay in touch. They remind me of where I have come from and how far You have brought me.

I pray that my day is profitable, both for me and for You. But, even if I fail, I know YOU won't fail me!

I ask that You continue to work in my life, and that You work in the lives of my loved ones everywhere. I pray that you watch over my sons, and that You direct their paths, and whatever it takes, may it lead them to You and the knowledge of Your love and build their faith in You.

I pray that you be with my church, that you provide the enlarged walls and the reason to enlarge them, as You continue to enlarge the hearts of each of it's members! And, for my Pastor, who has a big responsibility and a large task at hand as he teaches us to be Your hands and feet.

Thank you, Lord, most of all, for Your son, Jesus, who has made it possible to have a relationship with You!

In the name of Jesus I pray,

Amen

Please Pray for Mindi Martin-Chaffin Updated 12/12/18

12/12/18 UPDATE: Mindi’s surgery was completed this morning and PRAISE GOD the mass is BENIGN! Glory to God! Please continue to pray for her healing and recovery!

=======

Please Pray for Mindi. She will be going into surgery on December 11th to have a very large tumor in her ovary removed. She will get a hysterectomy and some chemo, as it is suspected to be cancerous.

Praise be to God that if it is cancer, they believe it has not spread, and is only isolated in her ovary. Pray that this remains so.

Better yet, pray for healing before the surgery so one will not be needed. But, pray God's Will, and that if it is, that he guide the hands of the surgeons so she has the best care possible!

Pray for her financial situation as she goes through this, and give her support during her recuperation!

Please make a donation if you can by following this link!

Please Pray for Sheri Nichols

Update now leaving St . Michael. I have a kidney stone. It's small , going too CVS too get antibiotics and pain meds, see Dr Peterson on Monday and Dr Picklemon on Wednesday.

===

Update : Just heard from Nurse practitioner she said that all Labs were good potassium was low, chest x-ray both lungs are clear, strep throat was negative flu was negative urine was negative, just waiting on CT results. Her hypothesis is possibly have a little abscess in my open wound and probably need some IV antibiotics but she is turning me over to the doctor in the hospital because her shift is ending, after they get results from Radiology which the radiologist leaves the hospital in about 30 minutes so it may take up to an hour for them to be read over the internet. Possible abscess in my open wound. So the Dr Schmidt the ER doctor and Dr. Beth Peterson will conference on the telephone about what to do about my infection. That's all I can tell you at this point. Thanks for praying and keep them coming.

===

Temp 101. Surgeon notified. Said she would wait too see what labs say..... Please remember me in your prayers. And God bless

Please Pray for Cheryl Northcutt (Updated! 11/3//18)

Update: November 3, 2018

Cheryl has received the perfect healing. She is with Jesus, now.

Richard, her husband, is in need of your prayers at this time. He was devoted to her up until the very last moment. This whole ordeal has been hard for him. Now, we pray for strength so he can move forward, knowing she is getting the best care possible.

Cheryl leaves behind both Mom and Dad , 2 AMAZING sons , Jordan and Nick, they all need your prayers!

Update: 10/18/2018 -- Cheryl is now on comfort care. She is not doing well. Her journey may be almost over. Her husband, Richard, has been with her every step of the way, and this has taken a toll on both of them. I still believe things could get better for Cheryl because we have an AWESOME GOD! This same God that has allowed her to go home from the hospital where she could be happier. The same God that gave her such a loving husband to go through this with her. The same God that, when and IF the time comes, is going to give her the BIGGEST blessing of all.

Please continue to pray for Cheryl. She, and her family, need it now more than ever!

7/26/17 -- Cheryl is moving to a private room! She's doing MUCH better!

7/21/17 -- Today is Cheryl and Richard's anniversary. Please pray for both of them.

7/20/17 -- 8 am -- Cheryl has had a miraculous improvement.
She is still breathing on her own.
Vitals are normal.
Her kidney function is improving. Her brain function is improving.
Going to remove the tubes from mouth, she will get a tracheotomy and a peg tube(feeding tube)
God is truly working miracles

9/16/17 -- 9:00 AM -- Richard Northcutt writes: My beautiful wife Cheryl Northcutt is making an amazing physical recovery however her mental condition is still to early to give a prognosis.

Please continue to lift Cheryl Northcutt and the two boys Jordan Parker and Nicky Parker up in prayers.

9/15/17 -- 9:15 AM PRAISE GOD! CHERYL IS BREATHING ON HER OWN!

7/15/17 -- Cheryl is improving, but still on life support. Keep praying! She IS improving!

7/12/17 -- 3 PM Debbie Taylor writes: Just went to pray with Cheryl, Richard and family. Her eyes stayed opened and she fixated on one of the sons as if intently listening. Lungs look better on X-ray and they will try to turn the ventilator down a bit later today to see how she does with breathing a little more on her own. Will do another EEG tomorrow for a scale check.

Folks, I'm seeing God at work and a family living through the power of prayer! Our God is an awesome God and He is what sustains all involved here! Richard is hanging in there and continues to be thankful for the prayers, love and support that is shown him.

This is good news in baby steps so let's keep the prayers going!

7/11/17 -- Debbie Taylor writes: NEW UPDATE AS OF THIS MORNING JULY 11th:
Spoke with Richard Northcutt this morning and here it is as stands. All the information from the very beginning is like baby steps. Any changes mention are small in size but that's ok. We know this is more than likely going to be a lengthy process. So here goes.

EEG's have been done a few times so far. On a scale of 1-10 Cheryl is at a 4-4.5. The goal to have here is a 7 minimum. Of course we all want a 10! The doctors are monitoring this closely with EEG's every so often. Even though her breathing has improved but still on the ventilator and vital organs are working, the brain is the focus right now. She spiked a fever last night due to the infection but it is back down this morning.

We cannot waiver with prayers, we need massive amounts of praying for God to handle this since the doctors are doing the waiting period process. We know God can show up and show out with this situation at any given time. So let us all do what we do best and give it to God and let Him do what He can do!

Richard did want everyone to know these details as I have laid out. I don't want people to think I'm violating the HIPPA act. He is so appreciative of how we are rallying around him and feels the love that everyone is showing. He is leaning totally on God the Father for healing and leaning on us for support. Let us continue to hold up this family in all ways possible.

Will update if and when anything changes. May God bless this family in a mighty way!

7/10/17 -- Cheryl had a setback yesterday.
At 8:00 AM, Debbie Taylor writes: Just spoke with Richard Northcutt on the phone and after a rough night, she has started improving once again. Praise God that we are all witnessing God at work. Infection seems to be improving and her breathing with the ventilator has once again improved. Fever has dropped from the infection. So I just know that God is not done with her yet! Prayers, prayers, prayers!
Please keep praying!

7/9/17 -- As of 5 AM, Richard writes: As many may know my beautiful wife Cheryl Northcutt is in ICU Wadley.
She is on life support. Her breathing is improving. She is responding to noise and light. She is fighting a major infection.
Continued prayers are needed.

As of 8 PM, there has been no change in Cheryl's condition. She is still on life support. PLEASE KEEP PRAYING!

7/8/17 UPDATE: As of 8:00 AM this morning, Cheryl's husband, Richard has reported that Cheryl is stable! Not out of the woods, keep praying!

Cheryl has recently had complications from surgery, in which she had pneumonia and her lungs were to be drained. Complications occurred and now she is on Life Support. She has not been responsive for at least 24 hours. Please keep her and her husband Richard in your prayers as they go through this. Pray that God brings her back strong and completely heals her. Pray for strength for Richard as he deals with this crisis. Make her responsive so she can fight this!

No matter what happens, we know that God knows best.
