Give me Jesus

Dear Lord,

You created this world, and all that is in it. You gave it to us as a gift. We look upon it with all of it's wonders and we exercise all of our senses as we fall in love with it.

You created the flowers, and the grass, and the thorns on the rose bush. You created the bear, the snake, the alligator, and the puppy dog and the kitten. You created all that was available to make the car and the truck, the airplane and the boat. You gave us all the intelligence we needed to fix broken arms, pneumonia, appendicitis, cuts, scrapes, and in some cases, even cancer.

As we go through the life you have given us, we learn that in order to enjoy all of the parts of Your creation that intrigue us, we are required, at times, to make sacrifices, in order to provide what best keeps your creation alive and beautiful. We take shorter showers, longer baths in order to conserve water. We turn out the lights in order to save on electricity. We give our old clothes to the homeless to help the less fortunate and not waste what is still usable.

And, we let little dogs go to homes that will love them so we can afford to have a place to live that allows us to save enough so that in the future, we can have a home that little doggies will never have to leave.

Our hearts break when we choose to send our children off to live with someone who can provide a loving home, complete with nintendos, football, basketball, music and siblings and pets, rather than try to keep them in a place where the next step is uncertain, and homelessness and hunger and doing without, or staying with strangers are eminent if they stay.

Doing the right thing in order to preserve the gifts that You have given us is so hard, because making sacrifices was never meant to be easy...hence the term "sacrifice".

So, as we make these sacrifices in our lives, Lord, in order to take advantage of the doors that You are opening for us, please be the Great Physician who mends our broken hearts.

I, personally, would sacrifice the whole world if it meant never losing my faith that You can fulfill the void that leaves. Take the whole world, just give me Jesus.

I love You, Lord. My heart is broken. I need You now.

In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Please Pray for Matthew Neese

Please pray for Brother Matt Neese, Pastor of the Gospel Tabernacle in New Boston, Texas. Out of respect for his privacy, I can't tell you what he is in the hospital for, but he has asked that I put him on the prayer list. He is recovering, but we need to pray for a quick and complete healing so he can get back to doing what God has called him to do!

Oh, by the way, due to these circumstances, he won't be in church Sunday. Maybe he'll be able to be there next week if we pray hard!

Please Pray for Dallas Switzer!

Dallas is currently battling issues with gall stones. She is already a short tooth pick and she's losing weight because of it. She has made arrangements to get it taken care of, but we still need to pray for her for God to get her through it!

Please Pray for "Double R" Garry!

Amanda Stanphill writes: As some of you may already know, our Double "R" Garry was recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and will begin part of his daily treatment tomorrow. We held a small family meeting yesterday to work out plans to help get him through the difficult days ahead. We are asking for assistance from our amazing church family right now!!! Our top priority at this moment is making sure he eats, even though his appetite is minimal. I am looking for volunteers to make a single meal that will suffice to get him through lunch or dinner. I'll be making a sign-up calendar for anyone that can help. The meal can be taken to church (Sunday or Wednesday) or it can be delivered to my house and I will get it to him. Again, we're asking for help with just one meal per day. He is on a low salt, low sugar diet and his stomach can not handle greasy or spicy foods right now. But he does love veggies and fruit!
If anyone is able to help, please just let me know. Here before long we also be looking to do a fundraiser to help him financially. He is unable to work, but we all know bills keep coming! I'll give more details on that as we get them set.

And for those that will, please pray for comfort, strength, peace and Gods will be done for our beloved brother.

Thank you all so much and God bless!

Please Pray for D! (Updated)

Kristie Walker writes: I'm asking for prayers! D fell at work yesterday and hurt his hand. He tried to work this morning but now is home with a swollen hand. He has an appointment at 1:30 to find out if it's broken. Just like most people nowadays we live paycheck to paycheck and if he can't work we will lose our insurance too. So pray, please pray.

****Update***** Thank you all for your prayers! Praise God!!! The Doctor looked at the x-ray and said he did not think D's hand is broken. If it is it is a fracture too small for him to see. He put D in a wrist brace and said he should go easy on it for the next week. If it doesn't seem to be getting better he will have to go back and get a CT scan and possibly a cast. Please continue to pray!
