You are Great, Lord
Lord, I am finite. No matter how much I praise You, O Lord, it isn't near enough for all that You are. I cannot begin to give You the glory that You deserve, even for only what You have done for me. You are GREAT! O God! And, that description is not great enough. Please continue to be all that You are. I love You, Lord. In Jesus' Holy Name I pray, Amen!

Give me Jesus
Dear Lord,
You created this world, and all that is in it. You gave it to us as a gift. We look upon it with all of it's wonders and we exercise all of our senses as we fall in love with it.
You created the flowers, and the grass, and the thorns on the rose bush. You created the bear, the snake, the alligator, and the puppy dog and the kitten. You created all that was available to make the car and the truck, the airplane and the boat. You gave us all the intelligence we needed to fix broken arms, pneumonia, appendicitis, cuts, scrapes, and in some cases, even cancer.
As we go through the life you have given us, we learn that in order to enjoy all of the parts of Your creation that intrigue us, we are required, at times, to make sacrifices, in order to provide what best keeps your creation alive and beautiful. We take shorter showers, longer baths in order to conserve water. We turn out the lights in order to save on electricity. We give our old clothes to the homeless to help the less fortunate and not waste what is still usable.
And, we let little dogs go to homes that will love them so we can afford to have a place to live that allows us to save enough so that in the future, we can have a home that little doggies will never have to leave.
Our hearts break when we choose to send our children off to live with someone who can provide a loving home, complete with nintendos, football, basketball, music and siblings and pets, rather than try to keep them in a place where the next step is uncertain, and homelessness and hunger and doing without, or staying with strangers are eminent if they stay.
Doing the right thing in order to preserve the gifts that You have given us is so hard, because making sacrifices was never meant to be easy...hence the term "sacrifice".
So, as we make these sacrifices in our lives, Lord, in order to take advantage of the doors that You are opening for us, please be the Great Physician who mends our broken hearts.
I, personally, would sacrifice the whole world if it meant never losing my faith that You can fulfill the void that leaves. Take the whole world, just give me Jesus.
I love You, Lord. My heart is broken. I need You now.
In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Please Pray for Matthew Neese
Please pray for Brother Matt Neese, Pastor of the Gospel Tabernacle in New Boston, Texas. Out of respect for his privacy, I can't tell you what he is in the hospital for, but he has asked that I put him on the prayer list. He is recovering, but we need to pray for a quick and complete healing so he can get back to doing what God has called him to do!
Oh, by the way, due to these circumstances, he won't be in church Sunday. Maybe he'll be able to be there next week if we pray hard!

Please Pray for "Double R" Garry!
Amanda Stanphill writes: As some of you may already know, our Double "R" Garry was recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and will begin part of his daily treatment tomorrow. We held a small family meeting yesterday to work out plans to help get him through the difficult days ahead. We are asking for assistance from our amazing church family right now!!! Our top priority at this moment is making sure he eats, even though his appetite is minimal. I am looking for volunteers to make a single meal that will suffice to get him through lunch or dinner. I'll be making a sign-up calendar for anyone that can help. The meal can be taken to church (Sunday or Wednesday) or it can be delivered to my house and I will get it to him. Again, we're asking for help with just one meal per day. He is on a low salt, low sugar diet and his stomach can not handle greasy or spicy foods right now. But he does love veggies and fruit!
If anyone is able to help, please just let me know. Here before long we also be looking to do a fundraiser to help him financially. He is unable to work, but we all know bills keep coming! I'll give more details on that as we get them set.
And for those that will, please pray for comfort, strength, peace and Gods will be done for our beloved brother.
Thank you all so much and God bless!
Please Pray for D! (Updated)
Kristie Walker writes: I'm asking for prayers! D fell at work yesterday and hurt his hand. He tried to work this morning but now is home with a swollen hand. He has an appointment at 1:30 to find out if it's broken. Just like most people nowadays we live paycheck to paycheck and if he can't work we will lose our insurance too. So pray, please pray.
****Update***** Thank you all for your prayers! Praise God!!! The Doctor looked at the x-ray and said he did not think D's hand is broken. If it is it is a fracture too small for him to see. He put D in a wrist brace and said he should go easy on it for the next week. If it doesn't seem to be getting better he will have to go back and get a CT scan and possibly a cast. Please continue to pray!

Please Pray for Christian Pastors Yat Michael Ruot and Peter Yein Reith
In Sudan, Christian Pastors Yat Michael Ruot and Peter Yein Reith were arrested and charged with trumped-up crimes because of their Christian faith. They faced a trial for their faith and a possible death sentence after months of secret detention. We (The Be Heard Project) mobilized our global offices and demanded their immediate release. They have been released, but Pastors Michael and Peter have been banned from leaving Sudan. They are again in great danger.

Thank you, Lord, for Soldiers, Parents and My children
Lord, today I want to thank you for letting me be born in a place in the world that has sheltered me from the persecution of living my faith. But, I know the time of reckoning is coming soon, and we will all be called to stand up and proclaim Your majesty in the face of terror. I pray that when that day comes, that You will give me strength to stand strong, even if it may cost me my life. There is no freedom without You.
I thank You for all of those who have gone before us, for us, to parts of the world we have never seen, to fight enemies that we are unaware of here in our cozy homes as we live our lives and raise our children in peace and comfort. I pray that the apathy that comes with that is somehow diminished as we realize how important these souls, our veterans, our heroes are. Give me the opportunity to thank them in a way that makes a difference to them when they come home to a different kind of war. Help us to have their backs as they have had ours.
I pray for the parents on this list who need to realize the importance of what they do on our future, and our children's future. What we teach them they will carry on to teach their children. May we teach them to be true to You, to have integrity, to be brave, and to succeed in being who YOU created them to be. May they honor us in the way we honor You.
I pray for my children, who have gone out into the world to make their own way. They are searching for themselves, and trying to find common ground with what they were taught, and what they wish to believe and practice. May their paths lead straight into YOUR arms, whatever it takes. And may they one day find peace in their hearts with understanding of the gifts they have been given by You, and use them to honor You. Nothing would make me prouder as a parent. Whether they succeed or fail in this world is not important to me. Rather, I pray they will succeed in finding their purpose in You, in storing up the riches in YOUR Kingdom that will maintain them for eternity is all that matters to me.
Thank you for helping me to see what REALLY matters in this life, and for showing me that all my ambitions in life are but nothing without You in it.
In Jesus' Holy Name I pray, Amen

Please Pray for Bob and Rosa Edwards!
2/15/16 Please keep Bob Edwards in your prayers today as he goes in for his second hip replacement!
UPDATE: Only a few hours after surgery today, Bob was up and walking around. PRAISE GOD!
Please pray for Bob Edwards. He is fixing to get both of his hips replaced. Bob has been a very active marathon runner for St. Judes Children's Hospital. He is determined that he will not stop running, in spite of this. His last known fundraiser was a five mile walk at Orange Leaf Fayetteville for St. Judes in October of 2015. Bob is a champion for Jesus Christ, a runner in the race of life, and a runner in the race for cures for all kinds of children's illnesses.
Bob writes: As I face surgery, to replace both my hips, God is reassuring me I will run marathons when I am in my 90s. Am I afraid of surgery ? Absolutely. But Jesus gives me strength in my weakness. I loves Jesus, and want to glorify my Lord. Things are settled in my heart now. God gave me Rosa Edwards to stand with me. Rosa is the most awesome wife ever, and loves me even though I am ornery sometimes. Thank you Jesus for putting faith in my heart, to believe you my Lord.
Rosa, his wife and my childhood friend, needs your prayers as well as she cares for him, stands with him and applauds him on! (Not to mention she has a few health issues herself!)
Please keep them both in your prayers!
1 Corinthians 9:24
Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
Philippians 3:14
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
2/5/16 Rosa writes: Edwards update: Some of you have checked in to see how we are since you haven't heard much on Facebook lately. Bob Edwards had a hip replacement Jan. 18 on the left hip and will have the right hip replacement on Feb. 15. Between physical therapy, doctor's appointments, his daily rehab schedule, and my work, we've just had a lot going every minute of the day. We are doing great; he's recovering well and is a terrific patient, highly motivated to recover and get back on the trails to train for that next marathon. I'm blessed to have a terrific job with supportive supervisor and co-workers that allows me to work 30 hours instead of the usual 40 (and sick leave for the difference) and adjust my schedule around his appointments. We are so grateful for the amazing community God's put around us through our church, our work, our friends, our family. Silence doesn't mean anything is wrong, it just means we are shoulder-deep in alligators trying to drain the swamp right now! Thanks for the prayers and support and checking in - every text, email, or post means so much to us!

Please Pray for Rusty Latham
Rusty Latham is running for the Arkansas House of Representatives (District 1) and he needs our prayer support. He is a Christian.
Rusty Latham is a fourth generation Miller County resident. He is the third oldest of four children and a graduate of Genoa Central High School. Throughout his school years Rusty played basketball and ran track. In high school he participated in a vocational program where learned to build and repair small engines. He excelled at this craft, placing and even winning regional, state and national competitions. This skill landed Rusty numerous scholarships at colleges and universities throughout the state of Arkansas, but he felt he had a higher calling and chose to join the National Guard.
Rusty served six years in the National Guard as a combat medic. He received training at Fort Sam Houston, Fort Leonard Wood, and Fort Hood. After an honorable discharge from the service, he returned to Miller County where he joined Genoa Baptist Church and became the youth pastor. The group started with four youth, but the Lord used Rusty’s service and dedication to develop this group into about 35 people by the time he left. Since then he has also served as the youth pastor at Arabella Heights and is currently serving as the assistant director of youth at Unity Missionary Baptist Church.
As a servant leader Rusty has ministered to many troubled kids as they faced drug and alcohol addictions, trouble in school, and single-mother households, often serving as a role model to those without a father. Many of these youth keep in touch with Rusty today and credit him with having a huge impact on their lives.
We need more like him running for office, and we need to support those that do. So please pray for him as he campaigns.
